What is Defibrillation? Defibrillation is a process in which an electronic device gives an electric shock to the heart. This helps reestablish normal contraction rhythms in a heart having dangerous arrhythmia or in cardiac arrest. In recent years small portable defibrillators have become available. These are called Automated External Defibrillators or AED's.

A shock within one minute raises the chance of resuscitation to 90 percent.

Cardiac Science wants its life-saving devices anywhere they can save a life. For
practical purposes, that means at home or wherever two or more meet; at work,
school, in restaurants, malls, airports, libraries, and other public places.
Powerheart AEDs contain advanced, lifesaving automatic external cardiac
defibrillator technologies that are fast, effective, and extremely easy to use. AED's are
easy to use and the earlier a defribillator is placed on a person, the better the
chances of survival are. Every minute that passes by decreases the victim's chance
of survival by 7-10%.
Sudden cardiac arrest is the number one cause of death and can strike anyone,
anywhere, even at work. So it's extremely important to be prepared to respond quickly
to a cardiac arrest. In fact, Powerheart AEDs are quickly becoming standard
equipment in America's leading corporations. Powerheart AEDs are also used by
hospitals, police and fire departments, public agencies, airlines and airports, arenas,
schools, hotels, casinos and many other public access facilities.
The revolutionary Powerheart AED G3-Automatic simplifies the rescue process by
eliminating the need to press a shock button. All that you have to do is attach the
device to a person in cardiac arrest. Once the defibrillation pads are attached to the
patient, the device detects the person's heart rhythm, analyzes the rhythm using the
patented RHYTHMx® software, and if a life-threatening rhythm is detected, instructs
the user to stand clear and automatically delivers a defibrillation shock.
Cardiac Science offers the latest advancements in automated external defibrillation
technology.
